The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is begun each year with the trail riders’ pilgrimage into Downtown Houston as they converge on Memorial Park. The colorful annual tradition is usually marked by some of the worst weather of the winter Cowboys stop traffic as they ride into the mainstream of Downtown vehicles, riding in wagons and on horseback in the midst of modern skyscrapers as they ride to Memorial Park where they will make camp before the next day’s Rodeo Parade.
