The First Red One     $4,200
Oil on Canvas.

The painting is of the street corner at Kirby Drive and Westheimer in Houston . As a native Houstonian, this red London phone booth is the first one that the artist remembers seeing in Houston . Today these red phone booths line Kirby Drive as signature icons. This painting depicts the newness of the new millennium in Houston…car shapes became more rounded…the new Beetle was shown in many bright colors…the PT Cruiser was new in it’s rounded form…and the Audi TT’s distinctive rounded sports-car styling won awards world-wide... capri pants were new again... cell phones were beginning to surface... prissy privileged dogs were common... hand crafted breads were an art form.
